  • Research shows us that the first few years (0-5 years of age) of a child's life are hugely influential over their future. We aim to ensure that children reach their unique potential with us academically, socially and emotionally – whilst enjoying every minute of their early learning journey. At cocoon we appreciate that every child is a competent learner. We want children to feel secure and valued, to have respect for each other, adults and environment. In order to do this we will provide children with planned indoor and outdoor learning opportunities accessible to all children. We will encourage children to explore their own unique interests at their own pace.in order to achieve our goal we integrated three international curricula in the USA and Europe that fully adhere to all international standers of education.

  • Developed by Italian educator, Dr. Maria Montessori, in the early twentieth century, it emphasizes on a child centered environment and individual learning takes place within this carefully planned setup. Dr. Montessori recognized that each child learns at a different pace so accordingly devised the Montessori curriculum to facilitate this growth. Research has shown that one of the best predictor of future success, is a sense of self-esteem. Montessori program, based on self-directed, non-competitive activities, helps children to develop a good self-image and the confidence to face challenges and change with optimism Thus the classrooms are well equipped with all the Montessori materials and loads of educational toys and puzzles to create & initiate activities and use the imagination to the fullest.. The children also learn to appreciate and understand different cultures in our multinational environment. Cocoon international academy is a place where your child plays and learns in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The habits and skills which a child develops in a Montessori classroom are good for a lifetime. They will help him to work more efficiently, to observe more carefully and to concentrate more effectively, no matter where he goes. If he is in a stimulating environment, whether at home or at school, his self-education - which is the only real education will continue. In short we teach the concept of how to learn things rather than learning a thing in itself, at the same time refining all the five senses of a child.

 


  • Since the Montessori children have learned to work independently as well as in groups , they are unusually adaptable. Since they have been encouraged to make decisions at an early age, they are problem solvers who can make choices and manage their time well. They have also been encouraged to exchange ideas and to discuss their work freely with others ; good communication skills ease the way in new settings! The habits and skills which children develop in a Montessori classroom are good for a lifetime. They enable them to work more efficiently, to observe more carefully , and to concentrate more effectively, no matter where they go.


  • Cocoon aims to encompass a curriculum that is responsive to the developmental phases of childhood and the nurturing of the child's imagination in a school environment that encourages creativity and free thinking. Our main curriculum adopts the center based approach it's designed to the fact that children learn best by being active. The classroom environment develops children's curiosity, independence , and self-confidence and also help them view themselves as discoverers , capable learners and team workers. Our curriculum covers math; Literacy; Science & social studies.

 

  • The teacher endeavors to create an environment that gives children time to play and encourages them to exercise their imagination, and learn to conjure up ideas from within themselves. Simple homely tasks and artistic activities to both 'do' and 'see' are balanced with storytelling, singing, games and generous play times. A rich supply of natural materials provides scope for imagination in play, which refined toys often deny. Steiner defined 'three golden rules' for teachers: "To receive the child in gratitude from the world they come from; to educate the child with love; and to lead the child into the true freedom which belongs to man." The reverence and respect felt by our teachers for the special qualities of each stage of childhood shapes the school environment, the way children are spoken to, the materials used, the activities undertaken and the approach to learning at each developmental stage. Teachers are dedicated to creating a genuine love of learning within each child. By freely using art, craft, music and language in conjunction with the teaching of academics. The academic subjects are enriched and enlivened in a way that meets the developmental stages of the children, offering both sensory and intellectual nourishment.
